Here at Workforce Health Assessors (WHA), we are proud to be constantly increasing our footprint all over Australia and New Zealand, inviting new facility partners on board along the way who echo our values of providing personal, professional and efficient pre-employment and ongoing medical services to businesses big and small.

The Practice Manager of our Carseldine and Fairfield facilities, Dan Garcia, with his colleagues, Vonnie and Caroline, are a testament to the level of services we provide to both our clients and candidates.

“Our core value as a medical practice is to provide professional and quality services to our patients. This includes the businesses that we provide pre-employment assessments to as part of our services,” Dan says.

Although he has only become an official partner in more recent times, Dan has been working with WHA since 2008, being originally approached by Managing Director, Jason Unwin, over 10 years ago. For Dan, working with WHA was a no-brainer—it meant a partnership with a business that had proven itself as a leading provider of workforce medicals, which ultimately aligned with Dan’s vision of expanding the services of medical practices in the Brisbane metropolitan area to include “corporate health assessments, pre-employment medical assessments, and pre and post medical exams for employees and their family members being assigned overseas to work.”

Vonnie and Caroline, Dan’s colleagues, began conducting pre-employment and ongoing medical services as WHA Assessors in January 2014. As Assessors who work one-on-one with candidates, Vonnie and Caroline love that their role enables them to meet new people from various backgrounds and cultures—and allows them to be an integral part of the hiring process, enabling them to identify any factors in candidates that may impair their overall health and their ability to safely perform in a role. “As a practice nurse, I find it rewarding to identify conditions that the client was not aware of and suggesting that they return to their general practitioner for follow-up of their general health issues that has been identified,” Caroline says.
